Types Of Care

1 Night - 6 Months – Making a difference when it matters

In times of uncertainty, offering short-term care provides a haven of stability for a child or young person navigating the unsettling journey of separation from their family.

Short-term care spans from a single night to up to six months. Some children need a secure place to call home for weeks or months, while others seek refuge for a night, a weekend, or during school breaks.

Emergency Care and Respite Care fall into this category and being a short term carer is perfect for those who need flexibility as the beauty of being a short-term carer is you choose the duration that suits you.

You choose the duration that suits you best, offering the flexibility that fits your life. And you won't be doing this alone. You'll have access to different kinds of support, like babysitting help, assistance with getting kids to school, fun holiday camps, someone to guide and support the young person, afternoon programs, and more.

Your heart and home can make all the difference.

6+ Months – Providing a stable home for those in need.

As a devoted long-term foster carer, you can provide the stability and permanency that children and young people deserve, even when their family home is no longer an option.

Month after month, around 8* children need a loving, secure, and long-term home due to circumstances beyond their control. The court's decision deems their return home unsafe. This journey spans at least 6 months, perhaps even up to adulthood.

Embrace the profound role of long-term care, offering children the unwavering safety and nurture they long for.
This is a chance for them to put down roots, unfold their dreams, and simply be a child.

At Muloobinba Aboriginal Corporation, your well-being and that of your household are paramount. Our support network is extensive: practical assistance, a nurturing carer community, programs and events for the children and young people, school drop-offs and pickups, and even respite care are all part of the package.

Your heart, your home – an impactful bond.

Your caring heart and welcoming home can make a huge difference in these children and young people’s lives.

Your role as a Foster Carer can create positive changes that will be felt long after the time you spend together. Walk The Journey with them!
